In 2022, Prof. Dr. Deniz Balcı settled in Istanbul as the Chair of the Department of Surgery and Organ Transplantation at Bahçeşehir University Medical School. His main interests include advanced hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancer surgery, as well as sophisticated techniques in live donor liver transplantation for both pediatric and adult patients. Prof. Dr. Deniz Balcı has developed and published techniques for liver regeneration in staged cancer and organ transplantation surgery, such as cancer operations and the Rapid Procedure in live donor liver transplantation for patients with cirrhosis. Dr. Balcı and his team have developed and published transplant techniques such as heterotopic partial liver transplantation for infants. Prof. Dr. Deniz Balcı has also developed a special software called Livervision, which is used for 3D visualization and surgical planning of the liver, and is currently utilized in many centers across Europe and America.

About
Prof. Dr. Deniz Balcı has developed LiverVision software, a specialized software for three-dimensional liver imaging and surgical planning, which is currently used in many centers across Europe and America for the design and implementation of these operations.
He currently works as the Director of General Surgery and Organ Transplantation at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine in Istanbul. Prof. Dr. Deniz Balcı actively participates in numerous national and international associations, serving as a board member of the International Society of Liver Surgeons and the International Living Donor Liver Transplant Group. He also serves as the Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Advanced HPB Special Interest Group of the International Liver Transplant Society.
